FAQ
What is this tournament format?
This is an exciting squad format in which players from a country play with different parters in each round of the tournament. Countries select their pairs strategically in order to outplay their opponents.
Why is this format being used?
We want to encourage players from within countries to be able to develop relationships and get the change to all play together. This brings squads together so much more than just playing with the same partner for every match of a tournament. The format also adds so many layers of strategy, making it a more interesting event for players and spectators.
What rules do I need to know?
Each country has 8–10 players. A matchup between two squads is split into rounds, and each round contains four sets. Squads take turns choosing which pairs of players to send out, with rules ensuring pairs are balanced based on their seeding. Every set win scores a point for the squad, and the squad with the most points after all rounds wins the matchup.
